On April 30, 2025, Université La Sagesse welcomed students, finance professionals, and industry guests for the 3rd Edition of the FxPro Trading Competition, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

The event began with opening remarks from Dr. Eliane Nehme, Chair of the Department of Finance, and Dr. Sandra Ghosn, Dean of the Faculty.

A panel discussion followed, exploring the dynamics of financial markets in the face of trade wars, tariffs, and technological transformation. Moderated by Dr. Nehme, the discussion brought valuable perspectives from guest speakers: Mrs. Lea Fayad, Economics News Reporter at LBCI, Mr. Marwan Abou Khalil, Head of Treasury and Financial Markets at BLOM Bank, Mr. Michel Saliby, Senior Market Analyst at FxPro and university lecturer.

Following the panel, top-performing students presented their investment strategies during the Student Presentations & Awards Ceremony, demonstrating their market knowledge, portfolio decisions, and analytical thinking.

 

The competition concluded with an awards ceremony and reception, where top-performing students were recognized and rewarded with prizes sponsored by FxPro and Librairie du Liban Publishers.

This annual event continues to provide students with practical exposure to financial markets, bridging academic learning with real-world experience.
