Under the High Patronage of His Excellency Monsignor Boulos Abdul Sater, Maronite Archbishop of Beirut and Chancellor of Université La Sagesse, in the presence of Professor Joseph Saab, President of Université La Sagesse, Dr. Maya Nehme, Director of the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI), Father Georges Nakhoul, Parish Priest of Kfardebian, Mr. Jean Akiki, President of Kfardebian Municipality, and Dr. Chadi Mohanna, Director of Rural Development and Natural Resources at the Ministry of Agriculture, and in partnership with the Federation of Keserwan-Ftouh Municipalities, Université La Sagesse proudly inaugurated its Cedar Forest in Kfardebian – a living symbol of hope, unity, and our unwavering commitment to a more sustainable future.
Initiated by the Office of Marketing & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), this initiative reflects Université La Sagesse’s enduring commitment to environmental sustainability while bringing together our leadership, faculty, staff, and their families around the shared values of community, stewardship, and collective action.
The inauguration of the Cedar Forest marks a significant milestone in our enduring commitment to preserving Lebanon’s natural heritage and advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 15 – Life on Land, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
From the inauguration ceremony to a joyful family brunch in the heart of Kfardebian’s mountains, the day was filled with meaningful moments, shared memories, and a renewed commitment to creating a lasting impact for generations to come.
