Fr. Youssef Abi Zeid, PhD

Fr. Youssef Abi Zeid is the director of the Family Institute as well as the coordinator of the Master Programs of the Faculty of Religious and Theological Sciences at Université La Sagesse. He holds a Doctorate in Theology of Marriage and Sciences from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for the Sciences of Marriage and Family in Rome as well as a Canonical License in Bioethics from the Faculty of Bioethics at the Pontifical Atheneum Regina Apostolorum in Rome a BSc in Biology from the American University of Beirut. His fields of interest are the sacramental aspect of marriage, the relationship between family and church from a dogmatic point of view, moral theology of sexual desire, bioethics and ministry of life. He also serves as a member in the Episcopal commission for family and life in the Association of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops – Lebanon, as well as a member in the Office of Family, life, and listening in the Maronite Archeparchy of Beirut.
