In coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, a team from Sagesse University, faculty of Hospitality Management, headed by Dr. Tanios Kassis, dean of the faculty, performed a Lebanese Festival Week in Mexico. This event was hosted by “CESSA” University for Hospitality Management in collaboration with “Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne”, partner of Sagesse University in Lebanon. The Sagesse University delegation defines Lebanon as a country of tourism, hospitality, cultures and civilizations, where everyone is eager to visit the country of Cedars.

The Lebanese Ambassador to Mexico, Dr. Hisham Hamdan, the president of the Lebanese cultural union worldwide, Mr. Alejandro Khoury, president of the host university Mrs. Lus Maria Guerrero, Dr. Tanios Kassis were present for the official inauguration. Dr. Kassis in his speech inspired a word for the occasion, by sending to the Lebanese community greetings from the minister Pharaon who’s working hard for the return of expatriates and friends to Lebanon and greetings from the Rector , Monsignor Camille Mubarak , who is keen on the exposure of the Sagesse University to the world and discussed the features of Lebanese tourism and hospitality, and said that the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism for such a Festival in Mexico was a remarkable gesture assuring the ministry's enthusiasm that has been involved in tourism , to deliver to the international community the good image of Lebanon regarding peace, love and tourism, not the image of war, assassinations and bombings.

Dr. Kassis mentioned as well that the objective of their participation in this event is to closely communicate with the Lebanese community in Mexico that is the wealth of Lebanon, if we properly handle and communicate with it for a better approaching. Every descendant of Lebanese origin is a necessity for Lebanon that we wish to stay a free, sovereign and independent homeland.

In his turn, the Ambassador Dr. Hamdan delivered a speech in which he praised the Sagesse University and its history in the world of culture and knowledge, he said: this participation is not strange to Sagesse University known over the ages about its patriotism and commitment, and continued with: Lebanon is present all over the world through its expatriates and especially in Mexico where they have a prominent place among the Mexican society. As per the Saint Pope John Paul II who said, Lebanon is more than a country, it is a message of freedom and an example of pluralism for East and West.  Lebanese people shall be decent messengers for the country of Cedars in the world.

The Ambassador Dr. Hamdan invited at his residence the delegation of the Sagesse University in the presence of a number of pillars of the Lebanese community.
