DESCRIPTION:Le Centre de Langues de l’université la Sagesse (Le CDL) a organisé le jeudi 24 avril 2024\, le Concours du meilleur Orateur dans les 3 langues : (arabe\, français et anglais)\, pour les étudiants de la Communication orale. \nPar cet exercice le CDL a voulu donner la parole aux étudiant.e.s afin de s’exprimer devant leurs camarades\, leurs professeur.e.s et les doyennes et doyens de leurs facultés. \nCes jeunes (au nombre de 10) ont abordé divers sujets d’actualité : l’I.A. et ses dérives\, la parité homme /femme\, l’immigration…. ils ont trouvé les mots et les images pour dénoncer les injustices et les violences sociales subies par les femmes et les jeunes… ils ont crié leurs angoisses et décrit leurs espoirs dans un LIBAN en pleine crise…. \nUn éminent jury a sélectionné les 3 lauréats qui ont été chaudement félicités. Les lauréats sont : \nJawad ABOU ORM (arabe)\,\nMaya SAFAR (français)\nAngelo RIZK (anglais) \nUn exercice réussi à reconduire dans les années à venir.

SUMMARY:Atelier de Médiation
DESCRIPTION:La Clinique Juridique de la Faculté de Droit à l’Université la Sagesse (ULS) en partenariat avec le Centre Professionnel de Médiation (CPM) de l’Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) et l’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) ont célébré la clôture du second cycle d’ateliers de médiation lors d’une cérémonie de remise des diplômes tenue le vendredi 10 mai 2024 à l’ULS. \nLes ateliers\, totalisant 30 heures de formation\, se sont déroulés à l’ULS sous la direction de Mme Johanna Bourjely Hawari\, directrice du CPM\, et de Mme Eliane Bou Khalil Mansour\, directrice opérationnelle du CPM. Ces sessions ont rassemblé plus de 40 étudiants en droit et en sciences politiques de l’Université La Sagesse (ULS). \nL’objectif principal de ces sessions était de doter les étudiants d’outils efficaces pour prévenir et résoudre les conflits dans divers contextes. Parmi les compétences visées figuraient le développement de l’écoute active et de la capacité de reformulation ainsi que la pratique de la communication non-violente et la facilitation. \nLa cérémonie de remise des diplômes\, tenue en présence de Dr. Étienne Harb (Vice-Recteur à la Recherche et au Développement à l’ULS)\, de Mme Johanna Hawari (Directrice du CPM) et de Mme Mirande Khalaf (Directrice de projet à l’AUF) a marqué un moment significatif pour les participants\, soulignant leur engagement actif dans ces modes alternatifs de résolution des conflits. Ces approches sont reconnues comme des moyens efficaces pour la construction de solutions pacifiques et durables des problématiques sociales et à la promotion d’une culture de paix et de dialogue dans notre communauté.

SUMMARY:FxPro Trading Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Université La Sagesse organized a Forex trading competition in partnership with FxPro. This event aimed to provide an online trading experience for learning\, skill development\, and personal growth in the finance field. The event took place in the presence of Professor Georges Nehme\, President of the University\, the Vice Presidents\, the Deans of the ULS faculties and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business administration Dr. Sandra Ghosn. \nFrom the initial group of 20 students\, five distinguished themselves as finalists: Daniel Al Banna\, Elie Ayoub\, Julien Ghanime\, Joseph Massad and Sami Zaatar. \nAdditionally\, three students were selected after presenting their performance\, portfolio allocation\, and investment strategy to the jury composed of: Mrs. Elsy El Rayess\, Representative of FxPro\, Dr. Antoine Gedeon\, Dean of the Faculty of Polytech\, Dr. Antoine Abi Zeid\, Chair of the department of Economics\, Mr. Michel Saliby Instructor and Mentor of the competition\, Dr. Eliane Nehme\, Chair of the department of Finance. \nThe first three top performers received valuable prizes from FxPro: \n– 1rst Place (500 USD): Julien Ghanime (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration\, Financial Engineering concentration).\n– 2nd Place (300 USD): Elie Ayoub (Faculty of Polytech)\n– 3rd Place (200 USD) Daniel Al Banna (Faculty of Economics and Business administration\, Economics concentration) \nA heartfelt thank you to FxPro\, specially Mrs Elsy El Rayess for providing technical and financial assistance and for the commitment to education and to the development of future professionals in the financial industry field\, and to Mr. Michel Saliby the mentor of the students in the competition.

SUMMARY:Marketing Competition in collaboration with Rodeo In
DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration\, in collaboration with Rodeo In\, conducted a unique marketing competition. \nStudents were challenged with conducting thorough marketing research and crafting AI characters tailored for TikTok marketing. \nFrom the initial pool of 20 groups\, only six distinguished themselves as finalists\, showcasing their projects to Rodeo In’s representatives. \nThe students captivated the audience with their innovative character designs. The best group that won a $600 prize\, consisted of Renel Mechleb\, Mohammad Malas\, and Anthony Abou Jaoudi. \nWe deeply thank Mr. Chadi Sawma\, the marketing director at Rodeo In\, for believing in the youth’s ideas and creativity and for collaboration with our university. \nAdditionally\, heartfelt gratitude is owed to the instructors\, Mr. Bassam Khoury and Mr. Kabalan Wehbi\, for their guidance and follow-up throughout the competition journey. \nFurthermore\, we are truly grateful for the enthusiastic participation of our students\, who immersed themselves in practical marketing endeavors through this enriching competition.

DESCRIPTION:Another outstanding series of workshops was conducted by Public Speaking and Capacity Building experts\, Mr. Christopher El Murr and Mr. Kevin Awkar\, at the ULS Career Center and Alumni Relations Office. \nThe series comprised four workshops covering various topics\, including public speaking anxiety\, body language skills\, emotional intelligence\, and digital communication. ULS students enjoyed participating in these sessions\, where they had the opportunity to engage in exercises on conducting effective presentations\, delivering elevator pitches\, developing emotional intelligence to enhance relationships\, acquiring essential body language skills for job interviews\, and optimizing digital communication for online interviews. \nWe extend our gratitude to the workshop conductors for their engaging sessions. DESCRIPTION:Senior physiotherapy students from the Faculty of Public Health at Université La Sagesse recently participated in an insightful meeting organized by the Lebanese Order of Physiotherapists (LOPT). This event focused on understanding the profession’s laws\, internal regulations\, and the process for joining the LOPT post-graduation. \nHeld on May 31\, 2024\, at the National Institute of Physiotherapy (NIP)\, the meeting aimed to strengthen the bond between our students and the LOPT while reducing the risk of regulatory violations. Disciplinary council members Dr. Roger Ziadeh and Dr. Ali Mourad delivered an informative talk\, alongside Mr. Gergi Antoun\, Head of the Physiotherapy Department at ULS and current Treasurer at the LOPT. \nWe are proud of our students’ proactive engagement in their professional development and look forward to their contributions to physiotherapy and public health!

DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Public Health at Université La Sagesse is dedicated to fostering strong connections between our students and the professional world. Recently\, our Nursing Sciences Department\, represented by Dr. Ghada Khawand Ayle\, Ms. Chantale El Hajj\, and Ms. Darine Mouaness\, accompanied third-year students from both the nursing degree program and the bridging program on an enlightening visit to the Lebanese Order of Nurses\, in Sin El Fil. \nDuring this visit\, students engaged in meaningful discussions with the Order’s President\, Dr. Rima Sassine Kazan\, and key officials about the pivotal role of nursing leadership in addressing global health challenges and enhancing population health on both national and international levels. This interaction provided our students with valuable insights into the Order’s various departments\, committees\, and activities\, and facilitated personal connections with the Order’s leaders. \nBy actively participating in such initiatives\, our students are not only expanding their knowledge but are also positioning themselves to influence the future of the nursing profession in Lebanon. We are proud to support their journey from academic learning to professional leaders.

DESCRIPTION:On July 3rd\, the ULS Career Center and Alumni Relations Office hosted Nestlé Waters’ representatives for a CV clinic and job interview session. Mrs. Rita Eid (HR Manager)\, Mrs. Rita Nemr (HR Specialist)\, and Mr. Rawad Sakr (intern) guided over 10 students through the recruitment process\, covering CV writing and interview techniques for phone\, online\, and in-person settings. \nStudents received valuable tips on crafting impactful CVs and answering common interview questions. As part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the university and the military institution\, Université La Sagesse offered two scholarships for military medical officers in the Lebanese Army to pursue master’s degree programs. This gesture was made in recognition of the vital role played by the army in protecting the nation and as part of the university’s commitment to strengthening the capabilities of armed forces personnel in this important field. \nThe meeting took place at his office in Yarzeh on Wednesday\, September 17\, 2024. \n

The new module is supported by UN Women. It will focus on gender-sensitive perspectives in the context of enforced disappearances\, addressing the challenges faced by women as relatives of the disappeared. \n \n
