DESCRIPTION:Le 4 mars 2025\, la Faculté de Droit de l’Université La Sagesse a accueilli l’Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA)\, offrant aux étudiants une occasion unique de mieux comprendre les enjeux juridiques internationaux et les opportunités professionnelles qu’offre cette organisation. \nL’événement a accueilli Me Élisabeth Sioufi et M. Carlo Mastellone qui ont partagé leur expertise avec les étudiants. \nLes étudiants ont été introduits à l’UIA\, mettant en avant son réseau international\, ses programmes de formation et les nombreux avantages qu’elle offre aux jeunes juristes. Ils ont été invités à explorer les ressources et opportunités disponibles sur le site officiel de l’UIA. \nAussi\, la Charte des Principes Fondamentaux sur l’Accès à la Justice des Femmes Victimes de Violence a été abordée. Ce document\, soutenu par de nombreux barreaux et associations d’avocats à travers le monde\, met en lumière l’importance d’assurer un accès équitable à la justice pour les femmes victimes de violence\, ainsi que le rôle clé des avocats dans leur soutien juridique. \nCet événement a permis aux étudiants de découvrir l’impact et les ressources de l’UIA\, tout en mettant en avant les opportunités professionnelles qu’elle offre et son rôle essentiel dans les enjeux juridiques mondiaux.

DESCRIPTION:Université La Sagesse\, represented by its President\, Professor Georges Nehme\, and OMT\, represented by its CEO\, Mr. Naji Abou Zeid\, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic partnership in financial services and student tuition payments. \n \nThe signing ceremony took place at the university’s main campus in Furn El Chebbak. It was attended by La Sagesse’s vice presidents and board members\, as well as by the OMT team. \n \nAs part of this collaboration\, an OMT branch will be opened on campus\, providing exclusive financial services to the university community and equipping students with essential knowledge about the evolving financial services sector. \n  \nProfessor Nehme emphasized that this partnership reflects the university’s commitment to supporting its faculty\, staff\, and students by providing seamless financial services. He highlighted that such initiatives not only strengthen the sense of belonging within the university community but also contribute to students’ academic success and skill development. \n \nHe further stressed the importance of this partnership with OMT\, noting that it provides the university community with access to a wide range of financial services tailored to their needs. \nMr. Naji Abou Zeid expressed his pride in this collaboration\, which strengthens OMT’s connection with students\, faculty\, and administrative staff. He reiterated that the primary goal is to simplify financial transactions\, expand access to fintech solutions\, and enhance financial literacy among students. He also thanked Université La Sagesse for its trust in OMT and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Lebanese youth through innovative financial solutions.

SUMMARY:Renaissance du Centre d’Études du Développement International et les Mouvements Économiques et Sociaux (CEDIMES) à l’Université la Sagesse
DESCRIPTION:Le Centre d’Études du Développement International et les Mouvements Économiques et Sociaux (CEDIMES) a été fondé en 1972 par le Professeur Emérite Jacques Austruy au sein de l’Université Panthéon-Assas Paris. \nDepuis il est devenu un Institut constituant une Fédération Académique Internationale Francophone. Celle-ci est établie dans 25 pays et compte plus d’une soixantaine d’équipes réunissant chacune une dizaine à plus de soixante membres. Elles sont désignées sous le nom de Délégations Régionales avec pour mission de promouvoir la recherche interdisciplinaire sur les enjeux liés à la mondialisation\, au développement territorial\, à l’entrepreneuriat\, ainsi qu’aux mouvements économiques et sociaux. Cette coordination universitaire vise à répondre aux défis contemporains du développement international tout en favorisant la collaboration entre chercheurs\, institutions et acteurs de terrain. L’Institut est actuellement présidé par le Professeur Claude Albagli. \nCEDIMES a bénéficié jusqu’à maintenant de quatre parrainages prestigieux\, d’abord\, le Professeur Maurice Allais\, Prix Nobel\, et le Chancelier de l’Académie Française\, ancien Premier Ministre Pierre Messmer. Puis après leur disparition\, par l’ancien Chef d’Etat et secrétaire général de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie\, Abdou Diouf et l’ancien Premier Ministre Jean-Pierre Raffarin\, éminent spécialiste de la Chine. \nDepuis plus d’un demi-siècle\, l’Institut CEDIMES avec ses équipes sises sur les différents continents\, est engagé dans des programmes de recherches couvrant Développement\, Territoires et Entrepreneuriat. Il développe des moyens éditoriaux en ouvrages et revues\, coanime des formations en Master au Kazakhstan\, en Chine\, en Haïti\, au Cameroun\, au Congo RDC. \nCEDIMES décerne des Prix Internationaux de Recherche\, organise des Universités d’été en Chine\, polarise des Collèges Doctoraux internationaux\, anime de nombreux Colloques et séminaires. \nMembre de l’AUF (Agence Universitaire Francophone)\, l’Institut CEDIMES a signé de nombreuses conventions du fait de sa capacité de réunir dans un même programme des universitaires issus d’établissements nationaux géographiquement très diversifiés. Depuis l’an 2000\, plus de 3500 chercheurs ont fait tout ou partie de leur chemin académique avec nous. \nL’objectif de l’Institut est de favoriser les échanges scientifiques et les dialogues académiques entre chercheurs et institutions issus de sphères culturelles différentes pour mieux appréhender les défis du développement dans leurs aspects socio-économiques et entrepreneuriaux. Il se veut un creuset d’écoutes et de dialogues où les différences enrichissent et relativisent. The tours also highlighted the university’s global partnerships with universities in Europe and the United States\, opening doors to exciting international opportunities. \n \nA unique part of the experience was attending sample lectures from first-year courses. DESCRIPTION:The Center for Continuing Education at Université La Sagesse\,   in collaboration with Human Capital Management (HCM)\, organized a free workshop titled “Preparing for Municipal Elections”\, held in two sessions on April 5 and 12. The training aimed to prepare prospective candidates to engage effectively in the upcoming municipal elections. \nAround one hundred participants from various Lebanese regions and age groups took part. The workshop served as an opportunity to introduce younger participants and university students to the work of local authorities and to highlight the importance of civic engagement. It also provided guidance to prospective candidates on all aspects of the electoral process and what to expect if elected. \n \nThe sessions included a series of lectures and workshops addressing the legal framework governing municipal elections\, the role of decentralization in local governance\, and the importance of collaboration between municipalities and communities to achieve sustainable development and improve public services. \nSpecial focus was placed on the implementation of the Public Procurement Law in municipalities and its role in streamlining local public services. Participants also received training in negotiation techniques\, conflict resolution—whether within municipal councils or in interactions between municipalities and citizens or community groups—and media communication skills. The workshop also covered how to plan a successful election campaign using social media effectively and responsibly\, with an emphasis on avoiding misinformation. \n \nDr. Nelly Hobeika\, Director of the Center for Continuing Education\, emphasized the university’s dedication to community development\, particularly as the upcoming municipal elections represent a pivotal opportunity to activate the role of local authorities in enhancing the quality of public service. \n \n  \nThe Center for Continuing Education\, in partnership with HCM\, organizes year-round professional and specialized training programs in response to the fast-paced changes in the labor market and the growing need to develop skills and support academic knowledge. These programs are open to students\, graduates\, and professionals from inside and outside the university and cover fields such as strategic human resource management\, accounting and finance\, internal auditing\, and anti-corruption practices. \nLater this month\, the Center will launch an 18-month Certified Insurance and Reinsurance Specialist Program (CIRSP) in partnership with Arabia Insurance.

نَزُورَكُمْ اليَوْمَ مَعَ بِدَايَةِ عَهْدِكُمْ، حَيْثُ نَتَطَلَّعُ مَعَ جَمِيعِ اللُّبْنَانِيِّينَ إِلَى فَجْرٍ جَدِيدٍ لِوَطَنِنَا، مَعَ انْتِظَامِ عَمَلِهِ الدُّسْتُورِيِّ وَمَعَ تَوَلِّيْكُمْ سُدَّةَ رِئَاسَةِ البِلادِ وَقِيَادَتِهَا نَحْوَ مُسْتَقْبَلٍ مُشْرِقٍ يَضْمَنُ لِمُواطِنِيهَا أَفْضَلَ سُبُلِ العَيْشِ الكَرِيمِ. نَأْتِيكُمْ اليَوْمَ وَقُلُوبُنَا مَفْعَمَةٌ بِالأَمَلِ وَالثِّقَةِ بِفَخَامَتِكُمْ، وَاضِعِينَ كَافَّةَ مَوَارِدِنَا البَشَرِيَّةِ وَالأَكَادِيمِيَّةِ وَالبَحْثِيَّةِ بِتَصَرُّفِكُمْ. إِنَّنَا نَتَطَلَّعُ قُدُمًا لِأَيَّامٍ أَفْضَلَ لِوَطَنِنَا، وَنَحْنُ عَلَى يَقِينٍ أَنَّ قِيَادَتَكُم الحَكِيمَةَ وَالوَطَنِيَّةَ، كَمَا عَهِدَهَا اللُّبْنَانِيُّونَ خِلَالَ تَوَلِّيْكُمْ قِيَادَةَ المُؤَسَّسَةِ العَسْكَرِيَّةِ، سَتَقُودُ لُبْنَانَ إِلَى بَرِّ الأَمَانِ، وَتَنْفُضُ عَنْهُ غُبَارَ الحُرُوبِ وَالانْقِسَامَاتِ وَالأَزَمَاتِ الاقْتِصَادِيَّةِ وَالاجْتِمَاعِيَّةِ الَّتِي أَثْقَلَتْ كَاهِلَهُ.\nفَخَامَةَ الرَّئِيسِ، نَحْتَفِلُ هٰذَا العَامَ بِالذِّكْرَى المِئَةِ وَالخَمْسِينَ لِتَأْسِيسِ جامِعَةِ الحِكْمَةِ، مَعَ مَا تَحْمِلُهُ مِنْ إِرْثٍ عَرِيقٍ مِنَ العَطَاءَاتِ وَالإِنْجَازَاتِ الفِكْرِيَّةِ وَالأَكَادِيمِيَّةِ، حَيْثُ أَعَدَّتِ الجامِعَةُ وَخَرَّجَتْ عَلَى مَدَى عُقُودٍ قُضَاةً وَمُحَامِينَ وَمُهَنْدِسِينَ وَخَرِّيجِينَ فِي مُخْتَلِفِ الِاخْتِصَاصَاتِ، تَبَوَّأُوا مَرَاكِزَ مَرْمُوقَةً فِي خِدْمَةِ هٰذَا الوَطَنِ. مِئَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ عَامًا مِنَ العَطَاءِ وَالتَّعْلِيمِ، شَهِدَتْ خِلَالَهَا الجامِعَةُ وِلَادَةَ وَنُشُوءَ لُبْنَانَ الكَبِيرِ، وَلَعِبَتْ دَوْرًا أَسَاسِيًّا فِي تَمْهِيدِ الطَّرِيقِ لَهُ قَبْلَ خَمْسِينَ سَنَةً مِنْ تَأْسِيسِهِ، حَيْثُ غَرَسَ فِيهَا مُؤَسِّسُهَا، المِثْلَثُ الرَّحَمَاتِ المِطْرَانُ يُوسُف الدِّبْس، بُذُورَ الشَّجَاعَةِ وَالمَعْرِفَةِ وَالرِّيَادَةِ الَّتِي أَثْمَرَتْ أَجْيَالًا مِنْ رُوَّادِ النَّهْضَةِ الفِكْرِيَّةِ وَالوَطَنِيَّةِ. تَضُمُّ الجامِعَةُ اليَوْمَ ثَمَانِي كُلِّيَّاتٍ تُسَاهِمُ فِي صَقْلِ المَعْرِفَةِ وَتَطْوِيرِ المَهَارَاتِ وَإِنْتَاجِ الأَبْحَاثِ العِلْمِيَّةِ وَخِدْمَةِ المُجْتَمَعِ، وَتَتَأَلَّقُ الوَاحِدَةُ تِلْوَ الأُخْرَى فِي نَيْلِ الِاعْتِمَادَاتِ الدُّوَلِيَّةِ الأُورُوبِّيَّةِ وَالأَمِيرِكِيَّةِ. سَوْفَ تَبْقَى الجامِعَةُ أَمِينَةً وَمُحَافِظَةً عَلَى تُرَاثِهَا وَرِسَالَتِهَا، بِرِعَايَةِ وَإِشْرَافِ وَلِيِّهَا، رَئِيسِ أَسَاقِفَةِ أَبْرَشِيَّةِ بَيْرُوتَ المَارُونِيَّةِ، سِيَادَةِ المِطْرَانِ بُولُس عَبْدِ السَّاتِرِ السَّامِي الِاحْتِرَامِ، فِي انْفِتَاحِهَا عَلَى هٰذَا المُوزَايِيكِ اللُّبْنَانِيِّ الفَرِيدِ، الَّذِي يُمَثِّلُ ثَرْوَةَ هٰذَا الشَّرْقِ، وَلُؤْلُؤَةَ العَالَمِ فِي التَّعَدُّدِيَّةِ الثَّقَافِيَّةِ، وَالَّذِي وَصَفَهُ البَابَا القِدِّيسُ يُوحَنَّا بُولُس الثَّانِي بِأَرْضِ الرِّسَالَةِ لِلْعَالَمِ أَجْمَعِ. \nصَاحِبَ الفَخَامَةِ، نُنَاشِدُكُمُ اليَوْمَ أَنْ تُصْدِرُوا تَوْجِيهَاتِكُمْ لِلْجِهَاتِ المَعْنِيَّةِ لِلْقِيَامِ بِمَا يَلْزَمُ لِدَعْمِ التَّعْلِيمِ العَالِي فِي لُبْنَانَ وَتَعْزِيزِ دَوْرِهِ. إِنَّ النُّمُوَّ الاقْتِصَادِيَّ المَنْشُودَ لَا يُمْكِنُ أَنْ يَتَحَقَّقَ فِعْلًا إِلَّا مِنْ خِلَالِ البَحْثِ العِلْمِيِّ، الَّذِي يُعَدُّ رَافِعَتَهُ الأَسَاسِيَّةَ فِي كَافَّةِ المَجَالَاتِ، وَنَحْنُ فِي لُبْنَانَ نُوَاجِهُ تَحَدِّيَاتٍ كُبْرَى فِي مَجَالِ تَمْوِيلِ البَحْثِ العِلْمِيِّ فِي الجَامِعَاتِ، بَيْنَمَا يُشَكِّلُ فِي الدُّوَلِ المُتَقَدِّمَةِ نِسْبَةً مِئَوِيَّةً تَتَجَاوَزُ الـ ٣٪ مِنَ النَّاتِجِ المَحَلِّيِّ الإِجْمَالِيِّ، بِمُسَاهَمَةٍ فَاعِلَةٍ مِنَ القِطَاعِ الخَاصِّ المُنْتِجِ. نَتَقَدَّمُ اليَوْمَ مِنْ فَخَامَتِكُمْ بِاقْتِرَاحِ إِعَادَةِ النَّظَرِ فِي سِيَاسَةِ الإِعْفَاءِاتِ عَنِ الغَرَامَاتِ الَّتِي تَصْدُرُ بِتَشْرِيعَاتٍ وَمَرَاسِيمَ وَقَرَارَاتٍ وِزَارِيَّةٍ، كَمَا عَهِدْنَاهَا فِي العُقُودِ المَاضِيَةِ، بُغْيَةَ إِلْغَائِهَا، وَالَّتِي تَتَرَتَّبُ عَنْ تَأْخِيرٍ وَمُخَالَفَاتٍ فِي تَسْدِيدِ الشَّرِكَاتِ لِضَرَائِبِهَا وَرُسُومِهَا، وَاشْتِرَاطِ مُسَاهَمَتِهَا بِنِسْبَةٍ مُحَدَّدَةٍ فِي تَمْوِيلِ البَحْثِ العِلْمِيِّ فِي الجَامِعَاتِ المَرْمُوقَةِ كَشَرْطٍ لِتَخْفِيضِهَا، عِوَضًا عَنْ أَنْ تَذْهَبَ سُدًى، وَهِيَ بِالأَصْلِ لَا تَدْخُلُ إِلَى الخَزِينَةِ العَامَّةِ. \nسَيُشَكِّلُ هٰذَا الإِنْجَازُ، إِنْ تَحَقَّقَ، رَافِعَةً اسْتِرَاتِيجِيَّةً لِلتَّعْلِيمِ العَالِي وَلِلاِقْتِصَادِ الوَطَنِيِّ، وَسَيُسْهِمُ فِي خَلْقِ فُرَصِ عَمَلٍ نَوْعِيَّةٍ لِتَطْوِيرِ القُدْرَةِ التَّنَافُسِيَّةِ وَالإِنْتَاجِيَّةِ لِلصِّنَاعَاتِ اللُّبْنَانِيَّةِ، مِمَّا يُعِيدُ لِلُبْنَانَ دَوْرَهُ الرِّيَادِيَّ فِي المِنْطَقَةِ. فِي الختام، نَتَشَرَّفُ، فَخَامَةُ الرَّئِيسِ، بِإلتِمَاسِ رِعَايَتِكُمْ لِلْمُؤْتَمَرِ العِلْمِيِّ الَّذِي تُنَظِّمُهُ كُلِّيَّةُ الحُقُوقِ فِي الجامِعَةِ فِي التاسع مِنْ أَيَّارَ العَامِ الحَالِيِّ، وَالَّذِي سَيَتَنَاوَلُ إِحْدَى رَكَائِزِ خِطَابِ قَسَمِكُمُ الدُّسْتُورِيِّ، أَلَا وَهِيَ اسْتِقْلَالِيَّةُ السُّلْطَةِ القَضَائِيَّةِ فِي لُبْنَانَ، نَظَرًا لِأَهَمِّيَّةِ هٰذَا المَبْدأ فِي إِرْسَاءِ دَوْلَةِ القَانُونِ وَالمُؤَسَّسَاتِ الَّتِي طَالَ انْتِظَارُهَا عَلَى مَدَى العُقُودِ المَاضِيَةِ. وَبِفِعْلِ إِيمَانِنَا الرَّاسِخِ وَحِكْمَتِنَا، سَنَبْقَى لِلْعَهْدِ وَلِلأَمَانَةِ أَوْفِيَاءَ، وَلِأَرْضِ الرِّسَالَةِ وَالتَّعَدُّدِيَّةِ وَاللِّقَاءِ مُثَابِرِينَ، وَلِلأَرْزِ وَشُمُوخِهِ مُحَافِظِينَ.” \n  \nرد الرئيس عون \nورد الرئيس عون مرحباً بالوفد، ومشدداً على أهمية التربية والثقافة في لبنان والمساهمة الكبيرة التي تقدمها جامعة الحكمة العريقة في هذا المجال، من خلال رسالتها التي تنقلها من جيل الى جيل، والتي تركّز على الفكر والعلم والمعرفة وهي الكنز اللبناني الحقيقي الذي لا ينضب والذي لا يعرف حدوداً، بدليل التألق الذي يشهده العالم للبنانيين في مختلف الحقول: السياسية والطبية والعلمية والاجتماعية والثقافية…\nوتطرق الى استقلال القضاء والقضاة والدور الكبير الذي يضطلع به في بناء لبنان ونهضته، والوصول الى الدولة التي يتوق اليها الجميع، دولة القانون والمؤسسات. \n  \n    \nبعدها، قدم البروفسور نعمة هدية تذكارية رمزية الى الرئيس عون، من أرشيف المعهد الماروني في روما خصّ بها الجامعة لتقديمها الى رئيس الجمهورية، وهي عبارة عن قطعة من الحجر الذي اقفل به قداسة البابا يوحنا بولس الثاني عام 2000 الباب المقدس لبازيليك القديس بطرس في الفاتيكان، قبل ان يفتح البابا فرنسيس الباب عام 2015 واعلانه عام اليوبيل الاستثنائي. وتم وقتها توزيع عدد من هذه القطع النادرة المصدّقة بختم الحبر الاعظم، كبركة من الكرسي الرسولي. \n  \n      \n  \n  \n  \nUne brique historique\, scellée dans la Porte Sainte de la Basilique Papale Saint-Pierre au Vatican à la clôture du Grand Jubilé de l’An 2000 proclamé par Saint Jean-Paul II\, et extraite lors de la réouverture de cette même Porte par le Saint-Père François\, au début de l’Année Sainte Extraordinaire de la Miséricorde (2015-2016)\, provenante des archives du Collège Maronite à Rome\, spécialement dédiée à l’Université afin d’être remise au Chef de l’État.

DESCRIPTION:Le vendredi 11 avril\, l’Université La Sagesse a eu le plaisir d’accueillir une délégation de l’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)\, marquant une étape significative dans le renforcement de la coopération académique dans le domaine du numérique. \n \nMme Omneya Shaker\, Responsable Régionale du numérique à l’AUF Moyen-Orient\, était accompagnée de M. Lassaäd Mezghani\, Directeur de l’Institut de la Francophonie pour l’Ingénierie de la Connaissance et la Formation à Distance (IFIC). \n \nLa direction de l’Université La Sagesse était représentée par les Vice-Recteurs\, les Doyens\, les Directeurs de centres et plusieurs collègues\, témoignant de l’intérêt institutionnel porté à cette collaboration. \n \nAu cours de cette rencontre\, M. Mezghani a présenté les missions et services de l’IFIC\, mettant en lumière les nombreuses opportunités de collaboration qu’offre la francophonie universitaire dans le domaine du numérique éducatif.

DESCRIPTION:The Center for Career Development at Université La Sagesse hosted its annual Career Fair under the theme: Network your Way… Take the Lead. The event\, held on the main campus\, was attended by University President Professor George Nehme\, members of the university council\, and brought together students and alumni with representatives from nearly 60 companies from multiple industries. \n \nAs part of its ongoing mission\, Université La Sagesse is committed to supporting students not only throughout their academic journey but also in their transition to the professional world. The Career Fair provided a valuable platform for exploring hiring trends\, in-demand skills\, and an array of internship and employment opportunities\, both part-time and full-time. \n \nMrs. Joanne Doumit\, Director of the Center for Career Development\, shared insights from a recent survey\, and it showed that the majority of Université La Sagesse graduates successfully secure jobs in their fields of study. This result is a clear reflection of the university’s solid commitment to delivering results-driven education that bridges academic learning with professional success. \nMrs. Doumit also emphasized the importance of the university’s flexible academic model\, which allows students to gain hands-on experience alongside their studies. This approach not only enriches their academic journey but also equips them with a competitive edge in the job market. \n \nThe Center for Career Development continues to play a key role in guiding students through this transition\, providing personalized support as they explore career options\, craft résumés\, prepare for interviews\, and develop the essential skills needed to build a successful and confident professional future.

SUMMARY:CSR Environmental Initiative by Université La Sagesse
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, April 16\, the Office of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Université La Sagesse held its first CSR Environmental Initiative in Kafra\, Beit Mery\, reinforcing the university’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. \n \nIn collaboration with the Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut\, the Lebanese Reforestation Initiative\, and Advanced Car Rentals\, the event gathered faculty members from Université La Sagesse who took part in planting a hedge of native Mediterranean Species. \n \nThe planting included thyme\, rosemary\, and lavender. Those local species were selected for their ecological benefits and adaptability to the local environment. \n \nThis initiative aims to: \n\nEnhance biodiversity\nAttract pollinators\nSupport natural pest control\nImprove soil health\n\n \nBy taking this collective action\, participants contributed to global sustainability goals\, specifically: \n\nSDG 15 – Life on Land\nSDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals\nISO 26000 – Clause 6.5.6: Protection of the environment and biodiversity\n\n \nThe event served as a meaningful reminder of the role academic institutions and their faculty can play in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
