SUMMARY:Leadership in Nursing Conference
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of International Nurses’ Day\, the department of Nursing Sciences at the faculty of Public Health initiated a conference on “Leadership in nursing” to showcase how Nursing shapes the Healthcare’s Future\, benefiting the economy and society. \nThe conference hosted Mr Elie Aaraj\, the Founding President of the Lebanese Order of Nurses and one of the founders and Managing Director of the Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA). His innovative work and skills in leadership have been recognized by several medals and awards among which the Kim Mo Im Award for Innovation and Impact on Health Policy 2019 from the International Council of Nurses (ICN). \nThe conference was introduced by the Dean of the Faculty\, Prof. Diala El Khoury and moderated by the Vice Dean and Head of the Nursing Sciences Department\, Dr Ghada Khawand Aylé. The discussions that followed highlighted ten policy actions outlined in the ICN Charter for Change that governments and employers must undertake to value\, protect\, respect\, and invest in nurses for a sustainable future in nursing and healthcare. Mr. Aaraj then addressed the students’ numerous questions and provided recommendations on how they could contribute to enhancing the political\, managerial\, and clinical leadership within the nursing profession. \nThe conference concluded with a meeting involving Professor Georges Nehme\, President of Université La Sagesse and Dr. Rayan Haykal\, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. This meeting provided an opportunity to underscore the necessity to shift perspectives—to elevate nurses from being invisible to indispensable—and to illustrate how strategic investment in nursing can yield significant economic and societal benefits. Finally\, Prof. Nehme addressed ULS nursing students\, sharing his vision and recommendations.

DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Université La Sagesse just wrapped up the 1st edition of the FEBA Entrepreneurship Competition in collaboration with Pôle entrepreneuriat étudiant de Lorraine (PeeL)-Université de Lorraine. \nThe event took place in the presence of Professor Georges Nehme\, President of Université La Sagesse\, Dr. Rayan Haykal\, Vice-President for Academic Affairs\, Professor Christophe Schmitt\, Director of PeeL at Université de Lorraine\, Dr. Sandra Ghosn\, dean of FEBA\, the Deans of faculties at ULS\, Dr. Alain Osta\, Head of the management departement at FEBA\, colleagues and faculty members from FEBA\, along with esteemed jury members: Ms. Joanne Chehab CEO of MALIA Group\, Mr. Rabih Osta General Manager Pheonix Energy (Indevco Group)\, Ms. Yasmina El Assi Chargée de projet Entrepreneuriat AUF\, Mr. Raymond Bou Nader CRDP representative\, Ms. Carla Saba Deputy General Manager Berytech\, Mr. Camille Nacouzi Consultant to the CEO Arabia Insurance. \nLet’s give a huge round of applause to our winning teams!\n1. SUMMARY:Concours du Meilleur Orateur
DESCRIPTION:Le Centre de Langues de l’université la Sagesse (Le CDL) a organisé le jeudi 24 avril 2024\, le Concours du meilleur Orateur dans les 3 langues : (arabe\, français et anglais)\, pour les étudiants de la Communication orale. \nPar cet exercice le CDL a voulu donner la parole aux étudiant.e.s afin de s’exprimer devant leurs camarades\, leurs professeur.e.s et les doyennes et doyens de leurs facultés. \nCes jeunes (au nombre de 10) ont abordé divers sujets d’actualité : l’I.A. et ses dérives\, la parité homme /femme\, l’immigration…. ils ont trouvé les mots et les images pour dénoncer les injustices et les violences sociales subies par les femmes et les jeunes… ils ont crié leurs angoisses et décrit leurs espoirs dans un LIBAN en pleine crise…. \nUn éminent jury a sélectionné les 3 lauréats qui ont été chaudement félicités. Les lauréats sont : \nJawad ABOU ORM (arabe)\,\nMaya SAFAR (français)\nAngelo RIZK (anglais) \nUn exercice réussi à reconduire dans les années à venir.
