Call for more student involvement and research

 Four Student Research Positions open

Deadline for applications: Friday 18 September 2020

Background – New Research Activities and Launch of Annual Journal at University La Sagesse

The University La Sagesse (ULS) is one of the most important universities teaching law in Lebanon. In the Faculty of Law students learn the fundamental principles to work as lawyers, judges, or other law-related professions. One of the key skills required for law-related professions is the structured formulation of own ideas.

The overall aim of this project is to foster more research at ULS and to involve at the same time its students.  A small group of four excellent students will be involved in research activities in the academic year 2020-2021. Depending on the already developed skills, students will either support preparatory works or be involved further in drafting and publication activities. Through these tasks, the students will acquire  the necessary tools and skills (such as research, presentation, teaching, and publication techniques) for the formulation of their own ideas.

Specific annual topics will guide the research work. The findings of the research will be presented at annual colloquiums and roundtables. The findings will also be published in a new annual journal of the University. Students’ names will be mentioned in the publication, depending on their contribution as author or co-author.
