On the occasion of the “Beirut Books 2023” Festival, the Department of International Relations and the Faculty of Political Science of Université La Sagesse (ULS) organized a meeting with author Yahia Belaskri to discuss his book “Le Silence des dieux”, on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Dr. Chady Saad, in the presence of Mrs. Claudia Pietri, representing the “Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie”, and Mrs. Mirande Khalaf, representing the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” started the meeting before giving the floor to Mr. Yahia Belaskri.

The students who participated in the event, engaged in interesting debates with the author on various topics, such as obscurantism and freedom, injustice and resistance, and finally, reconciliation and self-reinvention. Author Yehia Belaskri took part in the discussion with great kindness and humility, and his words were very pertinent, leading to a deep discussion on the importance of the addressed topics.
